What is it?
The Cascade Elite Dance Academy is the first of its kind in Kent that provides gifted and talented dancers the chance to train regularly in a professional environment. Founded in 2009, the Academy combines professional dance training and a choreographic & performance programme alongside a range of academic & applied qualifications delivered by The Canterbury High School.
Cascade have undoubtedly raised the platform of dance within Canterbury High School, giving students a sense of self worth and belief in their ability thus going further in the world of dance either as performers, choreographers or educators

How does it work?
The Academy is aimed at students aged 16 - 19 who have completed their GCSE's and are going on to study at A-Level, BTEC or National Diploma Level. In order to be part of the Academy the students must study an A-level at Canterbury High School or at one of its partnership Schools in East Kent. All students must audition to be part of the academy to maintain a high standard.
Students at the academy receive a timetable of weekly technique and choreographic sessions with a focus on contemporary styles, ballet, jazz, physical theatre and street dance. All students also receive strength and conditioning training program specific to dance from CHS and mentoring as an elite performer.
